Episode 6 Bachelorette Status & Points, plus Bonus Results!

Colton as sushi. Still bland.

DzKmTVlVYAANnHe.jpg

First: Nicole and Onyeka go home, to absolutely nobody’s surprise.

Hannah G’s 1-on-1: Lots of kissing and groping. And a tragic story about her mom destroying her dad’s lawn.

Martial Arts Group Date: Hannah Beast returns (and I rejoice), Demi gets hit in the face, Colton and Demi call Mom, and Sydney decides to hit the road.

Kirpa’s 1-on-1: I love Kirpa. I think she’s so stunning and normal, and I think she and Colton are reminiscent of Sean and Catherine. Ultimately, though - I don’t think he’s willing to step outside of his blonde girl box for the long run..

Demi goes Balls to the Wall: She wore a pink mock turtleneck top and jorts to seduce Colton. I’m honestly not surprised he sent her home.

Rose Ceremony: I’m legit really sad to see Katie go. Also, if you’re Colton, WHY aren’t you asking all of these girls who isn’t ready to get engaged? Probs because he’s not ready either!

Since Katie got basically no screen time last night, here she is. i love her.

Did anyone else think Thailand looked shockingly like Playa Escondida? There was even a Rose Palapa. It was odd.

First: Heather’s 1-on-1: All you need to know is that she has now BEEN KISSED.

Elyse puts on her “statement dress” to go break up with Colton. I saw a lot of confusion over why she left, but I get it. Even if you think you know what you’re getting into when you go on this show, it has to suck to have an early 1-on-1, and then see your relationship basically stall while others go on dates. She liked him and didn’t want to compete for him anymore. I get it.

Worst. Group. Date. Ever. They were soaked, in the jungle, and digging up slugs. No thank you. I absolutely loved Demi + the Hannahs, and I would 100% watch a show just dedicated to those three.

Cassie’s 1-on-1: So many questions about that “private island.” Where did they pee (I mean, obvs the ocean…but still.) How long were they there? Did they eat? Did Cassie have to be surgically removed from Colton’s lips?

Cocktail Party and NO Rose Ceremony: Onyeka and Nicole? This isn’t going to end well for you, ladies.

So how did our Bachelorettes do last night?

And what about the bonus games?

Episode 4 Bachelorette Status & Points, plus Bonus Results!

is colton dating his sister?

Let’s hope not.

Honestly, I want to go to Singapore. How did we get an entire episode there with zero mentions of Crazy Rich Asians? It was a great movie, an even better book, and something that has absolutely infiltrated the cultural zeitgeist. Even amongst 23-year-olds, I assume.

First off was Tayshia’s 1-on-1: My thoughts were as follows:

  • Man, it’s a bummer that I got rid of the “face your fears date” points. We haven’t had one of those in a while.

  • HOLY HELL, WHY IS TAYSHIA JUMPING FEET FIRST?

  • She looks fab in red.

  • The conversation about her divorce was measured, mature, and reasonable. And Colton’s right, her smile is stunning.

Next, we’ve got the Group Date in the Market, or Demi’s 1-on-1, if we’re being honest. Good on her for being assertive, honestly. Also, how does Courtney expect to stick around if she doesn’t even search out The Bachelor on a group date? Doesn’t compute.

Final date: Caelynn and the “Pretty Woman” shopping spree, followed by an intense and important conversation over dinner. Good for her for explaining what happened and how it affected her and everyone in her life. She didn’t try to avoid expressing emotion, and because of that, she showed incredible strength. I’m really glad that she has a platform to tell her story and advocate for victims - she has a great ability to communicate this. Also, I don’t fault Colton for discussing how a similar situation affected him in a previous relationship (which we all know was Aly Raisman, right?). While her story isn’t his to tell in a public venue, he did a good job of explaining how being in a relationship with a survivor of abuse affected him directly and also impacted his history of intimacy.

Cocktail Party and Rose Ceremony: HELLO HANNAH G. WITH THE HORIZONTAL MAKEOUT. Girl is here to play. Finally, Courtney and Tracy hit the road back to the ol’ USA. And with that, we’re down to 13 ladies. Chugging right along!

I’m Befumbled.

Three dates last night, but the only real takeaway was the beef between Caelynn and Hannah B. What happened? Why? Is it jealousy? Is anyone really manipulative? I seriously don’t understand, clearly Colton doesn’t understand, and the producers are gleefully egging everyone on.

Caitlin was eliminated on her group date because Colton didn’t see her as his wife. I don’t think this was punishment for not opening up - it was just that he can only compare his connection with her to what he’s experiencing with all of the other women. And if things aren’t progressing, and he sees no future, why drag it out? There are still 19 women in the mix. Some have to go.

Croatian Nina, Faux-Aussie Bri, and Not-Villain Catherine went home at the Rose Ceremony. There’s a very good chance that we’ll see at least 2 out of 3 of them in Paradise.

Did anyone else notice how sad all of the ladies were to see Catherine leave? Her villainy really fizzled after Night One, and it seemed that she was extremely well-liked. But the unanswered question remains: Where was Lucy?

I literally don’t have the drawers to unpack all this baggage, y’all.

The dates begin, and drama ensues.

Surprisingly, DJ Agro Catherine was not the impetus for the drama (and where was her dog, btw?). Rather, Demi takes the crown on the first group date, ramps it up during the cocktail party, and totally alienates the “older ladies,” particularly Terrible Tracy, in the process.

Hannah B. goes on the first 1-on-1 date of the season on her “golden birthday,” (which….why is this a thing?) and she implodes. As a pageant queen, she clearly can’t improvise. If she doesn’t have a rehearsed answer to anything Colton asks her, she basically melts into a puddle of awkward. It’s not good television.

Blah blah blah camp date with Billy Eichner. Heather’s never been kissed. Gotcha.

Finally, Alex B, Angelique, Annie, and Erika were eliminated. So, usually two ladies who the Bachelor is actually interested in don’t get dates during Episode 2 - they’re definitely going to be kept around. This time around, Angelique and Annie didn’t go on dates AND didn’t get roses. My theory? Colton wanted to send them home Night One, but the producers made him give out 23 roses.

So how did our Bachelorettes do last night?
