Becca's Bachelorette Blog (People)
Next week, I find myself defending my relationships to potential in-laws while making the hardest decision yet of saying goodbye to one more amazing man. But the biggest shock is that Tia comes back to drop a bomb that shakes up the entire foundation of my relationship with Colton. Trust me, you won’t want to miss a moment of it.

I did the math on the Wills/Becca relationship: They had a natural, easy connection shown back in Episode 2 where he received the first Group Date rose (amongst framed-photo-throwing dramz). He then received his own 1-on-1 date in Episode 4. That’s a reasonably strong start, sure. But then, on the Episode 6 Group Date, he told Becca he was falling in love with her and she gave the Group Date rose to someone else. This week, with three 1-on-1 dates to give out among six men, he didn’t receive one. My point is, Wills’s confidence in Becca and their relationship was disproportionate to the actual validation and encouragement he was getting from Becca, especially in these later weeks when he was suddenly falling so hard for her. If this isn’t evidence of how expertly designed the environment is to make its contestants—even its more reticent ones—collectively believe they’re falling in love with the lead, I don’t know what is. It also gives a glimpse into that producer encouragement. I have to imagine Wills was somewhat distraught over not getting a better response to telling Becca he was falling for her, but his producer very likely eased his worries, dismissed the importance of that Group Date Rose, and renewed his confidence in his relationship. There is a zero-percent chance this same producer truly believed Wills could be the one ending up with Becca. Wills was a lamb being led out to slaughter.

Can I just ask a question? Colton said only a handful of people know that he is a virgin. Is that handful that he is referring to in reference to the guys in the house? They all know about his virginity, yet he said that his dad doesn’t know. Colton decided to move from a handful to all of America as he proclaimed his virginity to Becca. He wears his virginity like a badge of honor or a scarlet letter, depending upon how you look at it. With all that being said, kudos to Colton for not being the stereotypical athlete. That bit of information is refreshing.

Thank goodness Blake gets the last one-on-one because the man was truly starting to spiral. On the date, he confesses he’s been struggling with watching Becca’s relationships develop with the other guys. Unfortunately, he doesn’t quite get the answer he was hoping for. Instead, Becca admits that going through the experience as the lead of the show has opened her eyes up to the challenges of falling for more than one person at a time.

Horny Becca is the most relatable Becca. This is the Becca I’ve wanted all season. I even thought we might get a repeat of Kaitlyn taking Nick back to her room because if I know one thing, it’s that the Bahamas is as sensual and romantic as Dublin in February. But there are a few things we have to talk about before Becca and Garrett make out in a tire swing until their legs are numb.
We’re 2.5 seconds into this group date, and I can already tell that this is going to end in heartbreak—and obviously I’m referring to my heartbreak here, because I have a feeling Wills isn’t going to make it. Blake got a rose on his one-on-one, which means Leo, Jason, and Wills are all competing for the same rose on this date. I have a feeling that this is where Becca cuts any guy who doesn’t shop at the Gap from her “journey of love”.
Becca loves to Jump & Straddle (trademark pending) Garrett and is excited to take him on a sea plane to their own private island so they can swing on a tire together and re-enact From Here To Eternity on the beach. Garrett pops open some champagne and announces to the world that he and Becca have more fun than any other couple on the planet.

A quick heads up about Paradise:
I’m not planning to do Bachelor League for BIP this year. I’ll be back in action for The Bachelor, but the twice/week slog through Paradise is too much for me this time around.
